Hi all, For several years now I have been working the public sector as a
Software System Architect for the state of Oregon, Department of Human
Services. Before this I worked the private sector, mostly startups.
Names that are like to ring a bell are Technicalities, WebMD, and
Flatrock. Interests have been Distributed Systems, Object Oriented
Technology, Web and Client/Server apps, and patterns. Most all my work
has been in C++, Smalltalk, and Java. Some domains of experience are
Public Health, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Graphics, Commercial
Liability, Reusable API/Framework development, and Clientless VPN
products. Some of my favorite authors are Kent Beck, Martian Fowler,
Rebecca Wirfs-Brock, and Booch. For several years now I have been in
positions that give more focus on an understanding of Software
Architecture as a profession. I got a Bachelors of Science in Software
Engineering Technology from Oregon Institute of Technology. At DHS we
have been using Java and WebSphere to modernize applications to web
technology and SOA. For more information about me and my family see
