RE:	Revised July 2005 Notice of Procedural Safeguards

ODE has completed the revisions of the special education Notice of
Procedural Safeguards (parents' rights booklets) to comply with IDEA
2004.  The revised July 2005 booklets are now posted on the ODE website
at the following link:

Beginning July 1, 2005, all school districts and EI/ECSE programs should
use the revised July 2005 Notice of Procedural Safeguards.

Between now and mid-August, school districts and EI/ECSE programs may
print copies from the web version as needed.  The versions currently
posted on the web print out as a document, not as a booklet.

ODE is in the process of ordering enough print copies of booklets to
distribute to school districts and EI/ECSE programs by mid-August.

Translations of the booklets will be posted as soon as they are
available.  School districts and EI/ECSE programs may use the order form
posted on the linked web site to order copies of translated booklets.
Translations will be available in the same languages:  Spanish, Russian,
Chinese, and Vietnamese.  Copies will continue to be available in large
print and Braille upon request.
