RE:      Second payment of IDEA funds for 2007-2008, estimates for
2008-2009

 

At this time each year we begin to get questions about IDEA grant 2nd
payments for the current school year and estimated IDEA revenue for the
upcoming school year.

 

As you know, the Department is dependent on sources outside of our
office for data that determines the final payment for IDEA each spring.
The last of the data needed to run the IDEA distribution formula should
be in by the end of this week.  It takes about a week to run the
formula, and then another week to process the awards in EGMS.  We
anticipate that the award letters will be mailed out sometime before
Spring Break. 

 

Our timetable for 2008-2009 IDEA Part B grant award estimates is April
18, 2008.  These are best estimates based on the most current
information given to us from the United States Department of Education,
and they will be posted on our web site.
