[Self-Management_OR] YMCA seeks Diabetes Prevention Advisory Committee members

Dear OPHA Members,


OPHA was contacted by the YMCA Columbia-Willamette. They intend to launch a National Diabetes Prevention Program in the Portland Metro area. They are seeking a person with a public health background and an interest in diabetes prevention to serve on their advisory committee. The committee will be formed in July to utilize the remainder of summer to meet and plan for the launch of the first implementation of the program in September.


The Advisory Committee will be ongoing though the current contract is for four years. The Committee will meet on a quarterly basis for approximately 90 minutes each time. The first meeting will most likely take place at the Sherwood YMCA location. Some of the meetings may take place via conference call or even email.
