Dear Oregon Self-Management partners,

Big news: the Oregon Compass website is now live! Shira is starting the process of sending invitations to users today. We are sending invitations a few at a time to avoid overwhelming our limited support resources, so please bear with us.

New Compass users: look for an email from qtaccompass at albany.edu and use the link provided in the email to sign in for the first time. Please respond to your invitation email as soon as possible, since the link is only active for 48 hours.

Once in the system, new users should:

* Check pre-loaded personnel and site data for accuracy

* Add upcoming workshop information (this will populate the zip code search feature)

* Add site, leader, and participant data for any workshops in process since the start of 2016 (2015 data will be loaded soon)
Please note that all data for 2016 programs should be entered by users directly into the Compass system. No more need to send paper forms to OHA!

Questions and Answers

What is Compass?
Compass is a unique online portal developed and operated by the Quality & Technical Assistance Center of NY (QTAC-NY). A registration and data management tool, Compass assists organizations in delivery and tracking of evidence-based health programs, including the Stanford Chronic Disease Self-Management Programs, the CDC's National Diabetes Prevention Program, and Walk With Ease. See http://public.health.oregon.gov/DiseasesConditions/ChronicDisease/LivingWell/Pages/reportprograminfo.aspx for more information.

How do I get access to Compass?
Organizations that provide self-management programs in Oregon that are supported by Compass may gain access for coordinators and administrative staff by completing three documents:

*         Memorandum of understanding

*         Non-disclosure agreement

* Privacy and information security training certificate
These documents are online at http://public.health.oregon.gov/DiseasesConditions/ChronicDisease/LivingWell/Pages/reportprograminfo.aspx.
Once paperwork has been submitted to OHA, users will receive an invitation email from Compass with a registration link. Users should respond as soon as possible, since the link is only live for 48 hours to enhance site security.

OHA will add links to the Compass login page and the zip code program search function from the state self-management website soon. In the meantime, the web link to Compass is https://compass.qtacny.org/.

How do I get trained to use Compass?
Compass is quite user friendly. A recorded training webinar will be available soon on the Oregon self-management website. Watch the listserv for a link. Two live trainings took place last week for users from organizations that have submitted complete paperwork. More will be scheduled as we develop a critical mass of users ready to be trained. A user manual will also be available soon. In the meantime take advantage of the help topics on the site.

Who do I contact with questions?
For login support, account settings assistance, password reset assistance and assistance entering workshop or other data into Compass, call toll free 1-877-496-2780 or email qtaccompass at albany.edu<mailto:qtaccompass at albany.edu>.

For initial access to Compass and questions about necessary paperwork, contact living.well at state.or.us<mailto:living.well at state.or.us>.

Thank you for your support and patience as we've navigated the long road to our new data system together.

Best regards,
Laura
