Hello Everyone,

Just a quick note to let you all know that online registration for the 7/22-7/23/16 National DPP Lifestyle Coach training in Portland is now open!

This training has 18 open spots in it and is a regional training targeted to folks in the PNW.  Although the training is being held in Portland anyone interested in the training can attend as long as they can make it to Portland.

Our last training in Portland was held in March 2016.  At that training we had one participant from Oklahoma and two participants from Kansas in the training.  We also had a waiting list of four people who did not get into the training (2 people from Oregon and 2 people from Alaska were on the waiting list).

Is your organization planning on delivering the National Diabetes Prevention Program lifestyle change program - the nation's foremost evidence-based program for the prevention of type 2 diabetes? The Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Health Center and the Diabetes Training and Technical Assistance Center (DTTAC) at Emory University are hosting Lifestyle Coach training for the National DPP in Portland, OR on July 22-23, 2016.

DTTAC Lifestyle Coach Training is a highly interactive, 2-day, in-person training with an expert DTTAC Master Trainer that provides your Lifestyle Coaches with the skills, knowledge and experience that they need to successfully facilitate the proven-effective lifestyle change program. DTTAC Lifestyle Coach training:

*         Features an interactive, small group format with hands-on practice in group facilitation techniques

  *   Includes detailed review of the yearlong National DPP curriculum, developed by CDC in collaboration with DTTAC
  *   Offers continuing education credits for dietitians, certified diabetes educators, and nurses
  *   Is open to organizations that have pending recognition or will apply for CDC recognition and includes the most up-to-date information on the recognition<http://www.cdc.gov/diabetes/prevention/recognition/index.htm> process and the national program.

Dates:       Friday, July 22- Saturday, July 23, 2016; 8:30 am - 5:00 pm both days

Location:   OHSU Center for Health & Healing, 3303 SW Bond Ave., Portland, Oregon 97239

Fee:   $750 per person (The fee includes all training materials. Payment can be made by credit card or check.)
