I'm pleased to share AARP's invitation to attend its first Age-Friendly Oregon Summit. This is a gathering of public, private and non-profit organizations, community members, and volunteers with an interest expanding the number of Age-Friendly Network of communities in Oregon.

Want to know more? Please review the attached Summit flyer and summary of the AARP Age-Friendly Network that describes the and eight domains of livability. Over the past several years, seven Oregon cities/towns have taken local initiative to join the Age-Friendly Oregon Network. As you see to work together to improve the health and well being of their community members of all ages through the Age-Friendly Network. The Summit is the place to learn more! While AARP's focus is typically age 50+, the Age-Friendly Network is to engage communities in actions that impact and improve the health of persons of all ages.

This was based on work that began in 2006 with Portland State University's Institute on Aging.
