Hello all,
I wanted to bring these to your attention, in case you are not already aware of them. They are very specific technical guidelines on using telemedicine for diabetic retinopathy and for dermatology.
These are consensus statements coordinated by the American Telemedicine Association. They are based on syntheses of rigorous research studies (all cited in the papers), and with input from practicing physicians from leading organizations, including military systems.
Just food for thought, plus an excellent source of peer-reviewed literature on the appropriate (as well as inappropriate) use of telemedicine in store-and-forward situations.
