Announced for Telepharmacy Program
*      The March Center for Telehealth and E-Health Law *Washington
Live!*Brown Bag Seminar will hear from two noted experts in the field
of
telepharmacy; Ann Rathke, Telepharmacy Coordinator for the North Dakota
Telepharmacy Project, and Nancy Vorhees, COO of Northwest Health Partners,
will be the featured speakers.  The Brown Bag will be held on Monday,
March 30, 2009 from 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM EDT.

Ms. Vorhees manages and directs Northwest Health Partners, which operates a
telepharmacy program in Washington state, where Spokane physicians write
prescriptions and dispense medications through machines in area rural
hospitals.

The North Dakota Telepharmacy Projects uses state-of-the-art
telecommunications technology to allow pharmacists to provide pharmaceutical
care to patients at a distant.

CTeL is delighted to have these two experts addressing the telepharmacy

     * Telehealth Network in Illinois Benefits Patients, Providers, and
Educators
*     For patients, providers, and medical educators in southern and central
Illinois' rural communities, a Springfield-based telehealth network is
helping to increase access to quality medical care and training. Established
in  2001 through grants from HRSA and Southern Illinois University's Rural
Health Initiative, the network currently links more than 149 sites in 101
communities throughout the state.

The program was begun at the Southern Illinois University School of
Medicine, with the goal of, as executive director Deborah Seale explained,
"bring[ing] the state's healthcare resources to central and southern
Illinois." Currently, the Springfield-based staff of seven facilitates 46
weekly videoconferences with participants across the state,
with the assistance of trained coordinators at each remote site. Twenty of
these videoconferences are geared towards providers, featuring professors
from various departments within the medical school. Each week, these
educational conferences reach more than 90 people statewide. Said Dr. David
Steward, SIU professor and chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine,
"It's a good way to reach people who might not otherwise be able to
participate in these conferences."
