*Credentialing and Privileging Report on CMS Rule Change...*
CTeL has issued a report addressing the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services (CMS) proposed rule change concerning the credentialing and
privileging process for telehealth providers.  The report notes, that if
these changes were adopted it would streamline the credentialing and
privileging process for telehealth providers across the country.

A summary of that proposed rule change, excerpted from the Federal Register
Notice, is listed below:

*"This proposed rule would revise the conditions of participation (CoPs) for
both hospitals and critical access hospitals (CAHs). These revisions would
allow for a new credentialing and privileging process for physicians and
practitioners providing telemedicine services." *

*Telehealth Consultation: How State Medical Boards Review the Process*

CTeL is excited to announce that it will be hosting its August Washington
Live! Brown Bag Telehealth Seminar on the topic of telehealth consultation,
titled "Telehealth Consultation:How State Medical Boards Review the
Process." The event will take place on Monday, August 9th, from 12:00-1:00PM
(EDT).

We are finalizing the participation of two state medical board officials and
a legal counsel with experience in matters before state licensure boards.

*CTeL is in Search of a 2010 Fall Legal and Policy Fellow*

CTeL is excited to announce that it is now accepting applications for both
its CTeL Legal Fellow (law school enrollment required) and CTeL Policy
Fellow (undergraduate enrollment required) programs.  The CTeL fellows will
have the unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience on legal and
regulatory issues related to telehealth.  This is a chance for young
professionals to interact with leaders in the telehealth community, while
being exposed to evolving legal and policy issues.

CTeL in Search of Visual Arts Fellow
*

The Center for Telehealth and E-Health Law (CTeL) - a nationally
recognized non-profit organization that focuses on legal and  regulatory
issues impacting the telehealth community - is looking for a 2010 CTeL
Visual Arts Fellow.  The CTeL Visual Arts Fellow will be selected from a
pool of applicants who have already completed either their junior level
undergraduate course work or are currently enrolled in a graduate program
which focuses on the visual arts (i.e. marketing, video, film editing,
etc.).

The CTeL Visual Arts Fellow will be asked to either create a short 30 second
internet-based commercial or film and edit interviews that will be conducted
with telehealth champions and policy experts.

The Fellowship will begin in Sept. 2010. Those who are interested in this
opportunity can e-mail resumes to  ctelsummer2010 at gmail.com. The deadline to
apply is August 20, 2010.
