Opportunities in Health IT.



A signficant portion of recent healthcare legislation has focused on
building and recruiting a workforce of skilled professionals in Health
Information Technology (HIT).  ARRA and other government initiatives
specifically set out to address the growing need for informaticians to
develop, implement and connect clinical systems; provide vendors and
industry with unique clinical and technical skills; and to develop and
oversee national and local policy.



The HIMSS Oregon June meeting will focus on education and career
opportunities.  Bringing together leaders from OHSU's nationally recognized
graduate degree programs in informatics and representatives from local
hospital, government, and industry employers; the session will provide
unique perspectives on the current and future job outlook for Healthcare IT
in several sectors.
