I am forwarding this entire newsletter to you, as three of the five articles
are ones I would have sent to you individually.  This will give you an
opportunity to look over Federal Telemedicine News and consider subscribing
yourselves (it's free).

The first article I wanted to call your attention to is *Interim Final Rual
Issued*.  This articles describes the DEA Interim Final Rule on eletronic
prescribing for controlled substances.  This will be important for those of
you considering provision of telepsychiatry services or pain management
services, etc.

The second article *Diversinet Advancing Secure mHealth* discusses the pilot
project being conducted in Ontario, Canada that provides patients secure,
24/7 access to all their viatl medical information on their mobile phones.
It also describes the technology developed by Diversinet to provide and
secure environment for this access as well as security for linking patients,
physicians, and clinical workers.

The third article *Informed Consent an Issue* provides information on an
ongoing discussion in North Carolina regarding informed consent and should
perhaps serve to remind TAO to revisit the issue.
