*Credentialing and Privileging CTeL Brown Bag Seminar Postponed -- *
* *
*May Brown Bag Seminar topic: Telehealth Issues in Telecommunications
*
*Sign-Up Deadline: Friday, May 21st by 6:00PM (EDT)*
Dear Telehealth Leader,
Due to a scheduling conflict, the May 24th CTeL *Washington
Live!*Telehealth Brown Bag Seminar on Credentialing and Privileging
will be
rescheduled.
At the annual American Telemedicine Association meeting earlier this week,
Dr. Karen Rheuban indicated that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services may release an interim final rule on the credentialing and
privileging issue sometime soon. CTeL decided to postpone the credentialing
and privileging discussion until the speakers could address the details of
the CMS proposal. We regret this scheduling complication, but are certain
we will have an informative credentialing and privileging discussion when
the Brown Bag is rescheduled.
Instead, the Center for Telehealth and e-Health Law is pleased to announce
that William England, PhD, JD, Vice President of the Rural Health Care
Division of the Universal Service Administration Company, will join CTeL as
the speaker for its May 24th Brown Bag Seminar to speak on telehealth and
telecommunications issues from the federal government's perspective. The
Brown Bag Seminar will remain at its usual time, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM EDT.
The Universal Service Administration Company administers the Universal
Service Fund, which provides communities across America with affordable
telecommunication services.
Well known in the telehealth community, Dr. England will provide updates on
a number of telecommunications issues that impact telehealth including the:
- Rural Health Care Support Program;
- FCC Pilot Program; and,
- Internet Access fund.
Please mark your calendar for next Monday, May 24, 2010, for an
informative presentation of telehealth issues within the federal
government's telecommunications programs.
