*State Medical Board Experts Will Discuss CTeL State Report on Telemedicine
and Internet Prescribing*
Telemedicine and Internet prescribing is the focal point of a new 50 state
report that will be released by the Center for Telehealth and e-Health Law
(CTeL) on May 16, 2011.
This 50 state survey reflects a compilation of individual state policies
related to telemedicine and internet prescribing.
The report will be the topic of the *CTeL May Washington Live! Brown Bag
Telehealth Webinar: What do the State Medical Boards say about internet and
telemedicine prescribing? *
This Webinar will be on *Monday, May 16, 2011 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM (EDT)*.
CTeL is pleased to announce the participation of two, well respected experts
in the area of telemedicine and Internet prescribing.
- *Tim Miller, JD, *Senior Director, State Government Relations and
Policy, Federation of State Medical Boards
- *Jean R. Sumner, MD, *Past President, Georgia Composite Medical Board,
Practicing Internist
The speakers will discuss how state medical boards approach the issue of
telemedicine and internet prescribing as well as review the details of the
CTeL telemedicine and Internet prescribing report.

*Meet our Speakers:*
*Jean R. Sumner, MD*
Dr. Sumner is an Internist practicing medicine in Wrightsville, Ga. She is a
member and past president of the Georgia
Composite Medical Board. While board president she established a telemedicne
committee to further understanding and standards of practice in this fast
growing area of care.
She uses telemedicine technology in her office to oversee nursing home
patients and for speciality consultation.
*Timothy Miller, JD*
As Senior Director of State Government Relations and Policy at the
Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), Mr. Miller both develops and
provides legal analysis on policies pertaining to issues the FSMB
encounters. Mr. Miller has accomplished a great deal during the last five
years of his career with the FSMB. These accomplisments include but are not
limited to, overseeing the development of the Uniform Application and
managing the License Portability project. In addition, he worked on
developing the Federation's new telemedicine policies. Prior to joining the
FSMB, Mr. Miller served as Executive Director of the Arizona Medical Board,
where he implemented a new Internet precribing and telemedicine policy.
