Our apologies, but the date of the webinar was incorrect on the previous
notification. The presentation will be made by Dr. Saffle on May 30 which
is *next* Thursday. Please excuse the error and we hope to see you tuned in
next Thursday.
Our Open Mic series is now scheduled to be held on the *last* Thursday of

You are invited to attend the next NRTRC Open Mic Webinar, part of our
ongoing education series for folks who are interested in Telehealth.
*About this program*:
Please join Dr. Jeffrey Saffle as he presents on burn care in the region.
Following this presentation, participants should understand;
- The limited resources available to care for burns in the US,
particularly in the West
- The ability of telemedicine to extend burn care expertise in both
acute and followup situations
- The value of portable device-based store and forward technology in
consultations and other applications in burn care
*Presented by: Jeffrey R. Saffle, MD, FACS*
A native of Utah, Dr. Jeffrey Saffle attended college and medical school at
the University of Chicago, graduating in 1976. He then returned to Utah,
and completed residency training in Surgery as well as a fellowship in burn
care at the University of Utah. He joined the faculty in 1982, and served
as Director of the Burn-Trauma ICU from 1985-2012. He is Board-certified in
General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Dr. Saffle is past-President of
the American Burn Association and the Southwestern Surgical Congress, and
has served as chairman of the American Burn Association’s Multicenter
Trials Group, and also serves on the Medical Advisory Board and Research
Advisory Board of the Shriners Hospitals of North America. Dr. Saffle has
published over 140 articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as a number
of book chapters and numerous abstracts. He currently serves as Director of
the Department of Telemedicine for the University of Utah Health Center.
