*OPIOID CONFERENCE – April 26, 2019 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.*



Oregon Area Health Education Centers invite practicing health
professionals, health care administrators, health profession students, and
all those interested to attend the first Oregon AHEC Opioid Symposium Live
streamed from *OHSU South Waterfront Campus, Knight Cancer Research
Building, Room 1011* to four sites throughout Oregon - (details below). The
audience will hear about the importance of opioid use disorder recognition
and treatment, as well as furthering their knowledge regarding opioid use
disorder. This event will provide educational outreach on what kinds of
opioid use disorder recognition and treatment programs are available in
rural and underserved settings.



Over the past year, four of our regional AHEC Centers (Oregon Pacific,
Northeast Oregon, Southwest Oregon, and Cascades East) participated in
community-based opioid educational and training activities. Each regional
Center will present on the activities and programs that are available in
their regions. In addition to these speakers, there will be three more
renowned subject matter experts presenting their unique approaches to
diagnosing and treating opioid use disorder from a rural or underserved
perspective. We will also get an update on the state of Oregon’s Opioid
Task Force.
