Hi Dr. Hersh,

I’m a big fan of the Telehealth Alliance, and noticed your reply as a recipient on the email list. WebEx (software app for that laptop) will sign  a Business Associate Agreement to meet the HIPAA requirement. At OHSU we use it for sharing PHI as part of research. It is not approved on an institutional level for treatment, even though it provides a secure portal. However, that is likely due to our resources and risk management concerns. A rural clinic would have a different risk threshold.  Just thinking aloud.

I am not able to help, but I wonder if they could obtain or even buy cheap laptops that have them built in? (I don’t own a web cam but every laptop I own has one.)

Greetings,

A rural clinic in Oregon is try to serve their patients virtually.  They are in need of three webcams.  They have been using LogiTech and those cameras are back ordered everywhere with no foreseeable delivery date.

I am trying to help them locate cameras.  They do not have to be new, just in working condition.

If you have cameras, or know someone who might have cameras that would be willing to lend, sell, or donate them to this clinic, would you please contact me at the number or email listed below?
