The idea is to submit an IMLS Leadership planning grant. The planning grant will focuscto develop strategies and do training etc. so that we can move into a grant for language development of native American languages on the Web. Go take a look at www.openlanguages.net/afrikaans as an example. Issues: 1. Submission date is February 1, 2010 2. I am in Africa Jan 4 - 21, so I want to wrap this up by the end of Dec. Thus, we have only a month, including Christmas and Thanksgiving I want to be as inclusive as possible, so I am reaching out to all of you. If your tribe is interested to have open resources on the Web developed, please reply to this email immediately. Also, if you know of others that might be interested to participate, please forward the email to them. Deadline: I need you to respond by Thanksgiving, so that we can move ahead to complete the grant application before the year's end. I am leaving the porch light on for you, so please let me hear from you.
