Tribal Programs at AASLH Annual Meeting
September 17-20, 2014
St. Paul, Minnesota
Please join the Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums at the September 17-20, 2014 Annual Meeting of the American Association of State and Local History in St. Paul, Minnesota. This unique partnership represents the second time ATALM and AASLH have joined forces to present specific programs that are designed to build bridges between tribal and non-tribal organizations.

ATALM participants are eligible to register at the early bird member rate of $245 (deadline is Friday, July 25) or the regular rate of $310 (after July 25). To receive these rates, which represent a savings of $140-$175, please use TT2014 as the code. Again, this rate is only good for ATALM participants or members of AASLH.

Ojibwe and Dakota Indians in Northern Minnesota Preconference Tour beginning at Mille Lacs Kathio State Park and continuing on to the Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post.  (Wednesday, September 17)

Say it in Dakota:  A Collaborative Study and Tour highlighting the collaboration between the Gibbs Museum of Pioneer and Dakota Life and the University of Minnesota Dakota Language Department (Wednesday, September 17)

70 concurrent sessions including “Putting the Native American Voice into Historic Sites”, “Telling Untold Stories:  Designing Native American Museums and Galleries”; “Partners in Collections Care:  Sharing Strengths, Skills, and Stories”; and “Community Collaboration in Digitizing Native American Collections”. (September 18-20)

“Practical Solutions for Storing, Displaying, and Caring for Textiles, Beadwork, and Leather”, a full-day, hands-on workshop taught by ATALM board member Jeanne Brako. (Saturday, September 20)

ATALM Table at the Awards Banquet featuring Dr. Anton Treuer, Awards Banquet Keynote Speaker and author of “Everything You Wanted to Know About Indians But Were Afraid to Ask”. (Friday, September 19)
