From tim.hay at state.or.us Mon Mar 25 13:41:17 2013 From: tim.hay at state.or.us (HAY Tim * EGS) Date: Mon, 25 Mar 2013 20:41:17 +0000 Subject: [Travel-Link] Changes happening Message-ID: Hello Oregon Travel Planners. I need to update you on some key changes. The State of Oregon led the WSCA RFP for Discounted Airfare. The WSCA Travel Sourcing team selected Southwest Airlines as the winner. Southwest is providing a 5% discount off of Anytime and Business Fares, and these fares are fully refundable. Southwest is also providing a 3% discount on "Wanna Get Away" fares. These tickets are non-refundable and you have to book them within seven days of travel. These discounts will be available through Azumano Travel for both traditional (Phone) and ResX bookings. The discount will be taken at the time of ticketing. The city-pair agreements covering the 26 city pairs along the west coast with Alaska, United and Jet Blue still take priority, but you may use the Southwest discounts for any other market in the US. I am in the process of finalizing the participating addendum, and its hope the discounts will be available in early April. The old WSCA Lodging Database is officially retired. I will be pulling down the list hotels later today. You should now use www.wscatravel.com to search and book hotels. You will need to register using your work email and phone in order to access the tool. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes. You are encouraged to use this tool to book hotels not in conjunction with air travel. If you need to book a hotel associated with air travel, please continue to book through Azumano Travel. Becky Lindsay left Azumano Travel and now works for another travel agency. Stephen Matusik is Becky's replacement. He is out meeting with state agencies and introducing himself. His email is smatusik at azumano.com and phone number is (503) 221-6151. Please welcome Stephen on board. The other update is I am leaving state government. After 14 years here at DAS, it was time to advance to the next step. Even though I am leaving, I won't be too far away. I have accepted a position with the WSCA-NASPO Cooperative Procurement Organization and a Cooperative Procurement Coordinator. My last day here will be April 5th. I have been waiting for this opportunity for some time, and it became available in February. I have asked to be to coordinator for the WSCA Travel Contracts to help ease in the transition. Pam Johnson will be the new point of Contact at DAS Procurement Services for the travel contracts, effective April 8, 2013. Between now and then, I will bring her up to speed and update everything on the website. I will also be available after I leave to provide her guidance and answer questions. Please welcome Pam on board. It has been a great ride these past 13 years managing the travel contracts. I'll miss seeing you at the annual travel forum. Best wishes to all of you. Tim A.
