Its has been a couple months since our last communication and the RDF ACT and Network members have been busy developing the West Coast Data Registry which should be ready for a June release. Also, the RDF ACT met in February to finalize their Work Plan (thanks to all Network members who submitted comments!) and discuss the Phase 2 work and plans for a Network Meeting in the Fall. See below for RDF updates and cool metadata training opportunities! RDF Updates * RDF Meeting Summary - The RDF ACT met Feb. 7-8, 2013 in Portland Oregon to finalize their work plan, discuss outreach strategies, and plan for FY12 phase of the project (incl identifying a priority ocean health issue to help define the Use Case Development). It was a great chance to catch up with everyone in the City of Roses. You can read the meeting summary here. * RDF Work Plan - After a lot of great input from the Network partners, we finally got our WCGA work plan finalized! Whew! A lot of hard work went into crafting this high level strategy for the next 3-5 years. One of the major modifications from the original version was the emphasis on supporting the efforts of our Network partners through trainings, communication tools, and direct resources. You can read the Work Plan here. * West Coast Data Network Meeting - As a heads up, the RDF ACT is hoping to host a full Network meeting in early Fall to discuss progress to date, hold trainings, and reconvene with our Network to take stock of where we are going and where we have been since the Dec. 2011 meeting in Oakland. Location and exact dates to follow. Upcoming Conferences, Workshops, or Meetings related to RDF activities - Conferences and meetings where the RDF will be presenting info on progress and work products.
