[yscon] Questions

Good morning,

The Maryland State Library is working closely with our Early Childhood
Division of the Maryland State Department of MSDE in support of their
Family Engagement Framework and recently released Toolkit that supports
their Framework. The Toolkit, in addition to being available
electronically, has also been printed in hard copy, and distributed to
major early childhood providers around the state. Children's Departments of
public libraries were included in this distribution, and I am currently
working with my YSC in all systems to implement use of these Toolkits with
their staff, customers, and community partners. Here is the link to a page
discussing the Framework, with a link to the Toolkit on the right side of
the page and a downloadable version of the Framework at the bottom.

As the YSC of the Mrayland State Library, I serve as a member of the
state's Family Engagement Coalition, which just hosted its second very
successful Family Engagement Summit last week. Maryland is one of the few
states that has included a special section to their ESSA plan on Family
Engagement.

I would love to hear what else is happening in other states about Family
Engagement, and will plan to be on the call on August 31st.

Have a great Friday!

Carrie :)
