[yscon] Reach Out and Read partnership?

Hi Danielle,
I’ve partnered with Reach Out and Read Colorado on a few state library conference sessions and one webinar to inform library staff about the organization, encourage them to partner with local ROAR clinics, and offer suggestions/examples of how to partner (such as cross-promotion, library staff providing storytimes in ROAR waiting rooms, and even 1 library in CO that donated a computer station to a ROAR for its waiting room). We’ve also approached it the other way-- jointly presenting to ROAR clinic staff on the same content during training sessions for them. We’ve had booths at a few of each other’s events, allowing for more cross-promotion at the state level.

While unfortunately we haven’t tracked the outcomes, the trainings do seem to have increased awareness of both library and ROAR staff, and anecdotally increased local clinic-library partnerships somewhat, though there hasn’t been a groundswell of collaboration resulting from it (mostly some cross-promotion).
