Thank you to everyone who has responded on/off list. Very helpful - and I can pass it along to someone else on my team for the final decision!

Take care,
~Krista

I got the same email right after you sent you message, Krista.

So in my previous job, we had explored a statewide contract for Tutor.com. It was trialed and got rave reviews by everyone - parents, kids, teens, librarians. But because of silly, political, complicated reasons we never were able to offer it. None of those reasons were legal reasons though - it would have been a statewide subscription service.

Here in North Carolina, when access to an electronic resource is desired, it is either coordinated by NC Live<https://www.nclive.org/> - which the State Library contributes to financially but it is an independent entity - or a consortium contract is formed by the libraries who want the resource, like NC Kids<https://nckids.overdrive.com/> - which is paid for by public libraries.

I know I'm not a ton of help, but I am a big fan of things like Tutor.com or Brainfuse.

Best,
Jasmine

Also I should have clarified my request - pros/cons of such partnership? Usage? Also - legality if not a non-profit (like GWC?)

Thanks,

Nope but we offer statewide access to Brainfuse so maybe they don't want to waste their time on NM...

Hello Ms. King-Oaks,

My name is David Wills and I am the Director of Library Partnerships for Tutor.com. I wanted to reach out and see if there could be any possibility of creating a Statewide Program with Tutor.com. . If this is something you would like to discuss further please let me know. I have attached a Tutor.com Learning Suite Information pack to give you a quick overview of Tutor.com.

Look forward to your reply,
