[yscon] Statewide Program // Tutor.com

Krista,
We don’t have Tutor.com as a statewide program, but I worked several years ago in a public library and was on the database selection committee that chose them for our library, and I was really impressed with their service. A little pricey, but the tutors were really great!
I think there’s a similar product… Brain Fuse? I don’t remember anything about them though.

No, I haven’t received it. NJ had a statewide contract with Tutor.com over 10 years ago and it worked well. The students loved it and the tutors were vetted teachers. We received grant funding from a business to fund it for three years - the maximum years allowed for a grant from that business.
After that, the recession hit and we weren’t able to get a grant to cover the costs so we weren’t able to continue funding it, although some individual library systems still have it.
