Hi Friends,

I received this email from a Ph.D. student requesting information about intergenerational programming happening in Texas. I’ve reached out to my sources in the state for information on what’s happening in Texas. The student also asks about initiatives that I might know about in other states. Do any of you have targeted state library initiatives aimed at increasing intergenerational interactions? If so, with your permission, I’d love to pass on your information to this student as a possible resource.

Thanks,

Here is the email I received:

My name is Meijuan Miao, a Ph.D. student majoring in Library Science at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Currently, I am conducting research on intergenerational programs/activities that libraries provide to increase interaction between older people and children/adolescent/young people in the era of aging, such as intergenerational reading/oral history/games/arts/tech-help and so on.

I am writing this email to ask if Texas State Library and Archives Commission has provided or is providing such program? Thank you very much~~~ I will be very grateful for your kindness.

Also, I would like to ask if there is any other intergenerational program in Texas Public Library System or other State Libraries? Thank you very much~
