Hi Sue,
Do you live in Oregon? I am meeting with Sen. Vicki Walker on June 19th
to discuss school liability as it pertains to school-based suicide
prevention programs. Specifically, I am going to ask her if she can
draft legislation to limit school liability if the school takes steps to
prevent suicide through research-based programs. Will let you know what
comes of it. From my understanding of the legal precedents, schools are
at greater risk for not offering prevention because they are mandated to
keep students safe. Here is a good article discussing current liability
