[YSPNetwork] Release of RESPONSE

Hi,

RESPONSE, a comprehensive school-based suicide prevention program 
developed by Looking Glass Youth and Family Services, has just been 
released for general sales.

The program is based on best practices in the field of suicide prevention.

The American Association of Suicidology (AAS) media committee recently 
reviewed the video, Never Enough, and it is on the list of recommended 
videos. The committee was enthusiastic in its praise for "Never Enough", 
  “Of particular note,” reviewers wrote, “was the way in which the young 
hero had to use his intervention skills with the mother of a suicidal

RESPONSE creates a dynamic protective environment in schools to identify 
depressed or suicidal youth through educating parents, peers, teachers, 
and staff for quick response. In preparation for the awareness 
components, schools are required to send 2 school staff to an ASIST 
training. These trained staff are then known as "suicide contacts" at 
their schools and accept referrals for staff and students to keep the 
student at risk safe until s/he reaches the next level of care.
An ASIST training is being offered in Eugene on May 14th and 15th from 
9am-5pm.
