[AL-Directors] Statewide Database Advisory Committee - Application now open!

The State Library of Oregon is now accepting applications for upcoming vacancies on the Statewide Database Licensing Advisory Committee<https://www.oregon.gov/Library/libraries/Pages/SDLAC.aspx> (SDLAC).

The SDLAC assists the State Library staff in the review of library databases and resources for the Statewide Database Licensing Program<https://slo.oregon.gov/SDLP_FAQ> (SDLP) and provides feedback on the scope, structure and success of the program.

Terms are for three years beginning on July 1, 2026 and ending on June 30, 2029.


  *   Position 1: Public Library Serving less than 25,000
  *   Position 2: Academic Library from an Oregon Public Academic Institution
  *   Position 3: School Library drawn from OASL Membership
  *   Position 8: Academic Library from a Private Academic Institution
  *   Position 10: Tribal Library Representative

Process and timeline

  *   Applications are being accepted online at: https://www.cognitoforms.com/StateLibraryOfOregon/SDLACApplicationForm
  *   The deadline for applications is Monday, March 31, 2026 5:00 pm.
  *   Applicants will be reviewed by State Library staff and recommended for appointment by the LSTA Advisory Council. Notification of appointment will be made in late spring 2026.

Expectations

  *   Involvement in SDLAC will include representing your constituent group by attending meetings, participating on an email list, and providing feedback on the scope, structure and success of the statewide database program. The Statewide Database Licensing Advisory Committee typically meets twice each year for 1-2 hours, virtually.
  *   Preference is for candidates with experience with selection, licensing, management, or instruction in using library databases or online resources.
