Hello Answerlanders,

A patron is looking for our help:

“Genealogy Question about my great great grandfather -- William Barry was born in Waterford, County Cork, Ireland on March 17, 1811 and traveled to New York City at age 19 on a boat that was named something like the "Pa-ral-a-fry Cork" - they were on the ocean for a year and 3 months, so he would have arrived sometime between 1829-1832. I would like to know who his parents were -- I have no information about that, and maybe see a ships log of his arrival. Can anyone help me find this information? I tried checking the 1821 Irish Census, and the Ellis Island ships logs don't span back that far.”
