Hello Answerlanders,

A fellow librarian is looking for our help:

"I'm assisting my friend with a research question of a somewhat sensitive nature, and I'm stumped. When she was a young teen, she was raped by her stepfather, a retired police officer. She recently learned that in spite of having been convicted of this crime, he is still eligible to receive his pension, and in fact in most cases even an active duty officer who committed such a crime would not lose their work-related retirement benefits. She is interested in finding out whether there are any activist groups that are doing work on ending pension payments to police officers who abuse the public trust or their position of power. I'm not coming up with a whole lot, other than some references to local groups in particularly egregious cases. From what I've been able to find, this kind of thing is usually set by state law. I would appreciate any information anyone can find!"
