[Oregon is getting a new statewide eProcurement system called OregonBuys]

Project update

Throughout September, our team continued project-planning work and also completed an inventory of existing processes in the Oregon Procurement Information Network (ORPIN). We're now reviewing the process inventory to ensure it's correct and complete.

We're also excited to share that our first monthly state agency forum was a huge success! 95 people attended from across 32 different agencies, and there was representation from the procurement, accounting, and IT disciplines. We hope that you'll join us at the October forum and get better acquainted with OregonBuys.

The transition to OregonBuys will affect staff in many areas including procurement, accounts payable, those who submit purchase requisitions or process purchase orders, managers who approve purchases, vendors who do business with the state, local governments, and potentially others.

Change can be hard, but it's easier if you know what to expect. OregonBuys will bring changes to state agency business processes and will introduce new terminology. The flip side is it will also make your job easier by increasing efficiency, and eliminating dual entry and manual tracking.
