[CtyTobProMgrs] Synar survey county reports now available

Hello,

The Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Section is pleased to announce that the Synar Survey results for 2017 are now available on HPCDP Connection at http://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/DISEASESCONDITIONS/CHRONICDISEASE/HPCDPCONNECTION/TOBACCO/Pages/RetailLicensing.aspx. in the section titled "Tobacco Retail Law Coordination Tools".  The 2017 report includes county and state sales rates.

In 2017, there was a 9.9% sales rate to minors (called "retailer violation rate" in the report) among Oregon's non age-restricted tobacco retailers. This figure is up from 4.5% in the 2016 survey year.

In 2016, only sales of cigarettes to minors were included. Protocols were adjusted for the 2017 survey year to include sales of electronic cigarettes and little cigars as well. These changes contributed to the increased rate in 2017.
