Joing us for Domestic Violence Danger Assessment and Safety Planning
Training

 

The Danger Assessment (DA) - This session will give participants
background and instruction on how to administer the DA to
victims/survivors, the weighted scoring for the DA, the resulting levels
of Danger and what kinds of safety strategies might be recommended at
each level.   Participants will be eligible for certification in the DA
at the completion of the session and will receive directions on how to
obtain and use the certification. 


 

About our Trainers:

Jacquelyn Campbell, PhD, RN is the Anna D. Wolf Chair and Professor in
the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing with a joint appointment
in the Bloomberg School of Public Health plus is National Program
Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Nurse Faculty Scholars
program.  Dr. Campbell has been conducting advocacy policy work and
research in the area of violence against women since 1980, publishing
more than 220 articles and seven books.  She is an elected member of the
Institute of Medicine/National Academy of Science and is Chair of the
Board of Directors of the Family Violence Prevention Fund.

 

Dr. Nancy Glass, PhD, MPH, RN, FAAN, Associate Professor, Johns Hopkins
University School of Nursing  Associate Director, Johns Hopkins Center
for Global Health.  Dr. Nancy Glass is a nurse clinician, a researcher,
a cross-discipline bridge builder, and an educator. Her research work
centers on clinical care and intervention in the areas of violence
prevention and health disparities. With funding from the National
Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
she is conducting three major studies on intimate partner violence. As
an associate director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Global Health - a
new program that bridges the international work of the university's
schools of nursing, medicine, and public health - and an Ambassador for
Research America's Paul G. Rogers Society for Global Health Research,
Dr. Glass serves as a global health scientist-advocate. She also is a
past-president of the Nursing Network on Violence Against Women,
International. In all her global outreach roles, Dr. Glass works to
educate policymakers, thought leaders, the media, and the public about
the importance of global health research.
