New Resource! The Family Violence Prevention Fund has released a new
report detailing current research on batterer intervention programs.  It
highlights innovative practices and addresses how related fields are
approaching similar problems.  "The Woods" Charitable Foundation gave

National Advisory Committee on Violence Against Women:  Attorney General
Holder has re-chartered a discretionary federal advisory committee to
provide advice and recommendations to the Department of Justice and the
Department of Health and Human Services on how to improve the nation's
response to violence against women, with a specific focus on successful
interventions with children and teens who witness and/or are victimized
by domestic violence or sexual assault.  The committee includes highly
regarded advocates, justice system and child welfare professionals, and

The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) and victim
advocates across the country applaud the U.S. Senate for passing the
bill to reauthorize the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act
(FVSPA) as part of the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA).
This bill will help keep domestic violence shelters open so that victims
and their children can find safety and support when fleeing abusive

 Oregon Adolescent Sexuality Conference Seeking Proposals: The Oregon
Sexuality Conference is seeking workshop proposals for its 2011
conference, April 4-5, in Seaside, Oregon. The theme for the 2011
conference is Healthy Relationships Matter. This is an opportunity to
share innovative ideas, research, and best practices with both

Batterer Intervention Services Coalition Michigan (BISC-MI): National
Conference Call for Proposals. BISC-MI, a national provider of high

and Safety planning. Multnomah County Domestic Violence Coordinators
Office, Multnomah Building, 501 SE Hawthorne Boulevard Portland, OR,
Board Room 100. Jacquelyn Campbell, PhD, RN and Dr. Nancy Glass, PhD,
MPH, RN, FAAN , will provide this training. Participants will receive
background and instruction on how to administer the Danger Assessment
to victims/survivors, the weighted scoring for the DA, the resulting
levels of Danger and what kinds of safety strategies might be
recommended at each level.   Participants will be eligible for
certification in the DA at the completion of the session and will
receive directions on how to obtain and use the certification. There is

Training. Multnomah County Family Violence Coordinating Council Monthly
Training, Multnomah County Southeast Health Clinic, 3653 SE 34th Ave,
Portland OR 97202. This training will provide advocates, mental health
and addictions counselors, social workers, and criminal justice
advocates an opportunity to learn the skills necessary for effective
co-advocacy with survivors of domestic violence.  This workshop will
offer an opportunity to learn the unique strategies for working
