[Erate] A Question from Wendy Fullerton Ashland SD

Wendy is looking for some information from other e-Rate applicants. Please feel free to respond to the listserv or to her directly, whichever you feel more comfortable with. Keep in mind that your responses may help others who haven't thought to ask us! Here is Wendy's question:

"We are primarily looking for direction on the best way to go with a new VOIP system and would like to hear from  other districts in the state who have chosen to go that route in the last few years.  We would like to hear about their experiences in installing a VOIP system - what worked, what didn't work, what to look out for.  We would love to get enough information to do a good comparison between a hosted and/or leased solution and a purchased solution, while keeping in mind the best opportunities for taking advantage of E-Rate discounts and/or reimbursements. (It looks like our reimbursement rate will be between 55-60%, so I don't know how much reimbursement we would qualify for.)  We would also appreciate sample RFP's for VOIP systems so we can get a clearer idea of what might be involved."
