  *   Funding Status.  The application window for FY 2012 opened January 9 and close March 20, 2012.  Wave 31 for FY 2011 and Wave 83 for FY 2010 will be released this week.
  *   SECA Files Blanket Item 21 Waiver Request with the FCC.  The State E-Rate Coordinators' Alliance has filed a request with the FCC seeking to reverse or prevent funding denials for untimely filed Item 221 attachments on FY 2011 applications.
  *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.  The FCC has rejected a service provider's "due process" appeal, perhaps setting an unfortunate precedent.  Computers using Internet Explorer 9 may need to be run in compatibility mode to avoid SLD system problems.  The deadline for the submission of invoices for non-recurring services is January 30.
  *   Schools and Libraries Special News Brief Dated January 20.  The SLD latest News Brief discusses the calculation of discounts for a variety of applicant types.
