  *Call for Abstracts *
Have *you* solved a challenging problem, worked on an outstanding project,
or just have some great GIS news?

Share it with the Oregon and SW Washington GIS community at the *joint* *GIS
In Action and PLSO Conference* *March 13-16, 2012*!

Presenters receive* **discounted **conference rates*, GISP points, and the
glowing admiration of their peers.

*Visit www. http://www.orurisa.org/GIS_In_Action for more information. *

*A message from Oregon URISA Co-President, Bob Pool* *-*

In my role as reticent half president and reluctant program director, I
often get asked "How can I help out ORURISA". Well, one of the best ways
to give back to the GIS community is to make a presentation at the GIS in
Action conference.

This year is a special year in that we have an opportunity to demonstrate
the broad spectrum of *GIS applications to the Surveying community.* *Let’s
work together to make this a strong program.*

For example, some cross over ideas that have been at the forefront of Clark
County's efforts this year are: Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL),
E-Government Workflow (Electronic Design Submittal), Mobile Computing,
Tablet (iPad) GIS. All presentation ideas will be considered and probably
accepted, so be creative.

As we coordinate with the PLSO it is important that the program gets
compiled early this year, we need to have a *solid draft completed by
December*.

We are looking for papers, posters or even better someone willing to put
together an entire session.

Thank you for your participation in GIS in Action, it is our GIS community
that makes this region special.

Bob
