[gis_info] Announcing new Oregon Imagery Explorer website - 2005 WMS URL

Notice,

All WMS services related to wms.oregonexplorer.info are going to be discontinued in a matter of days.

The WMS URL available for the old imagery explorer was  http://wms.oregonexplorer.info/ImageX/ecw_wms.dll?service=wms

Users may point to any of the services listed at http://imagery.oregonexplorer.info/arcgis/rest/services/NAIP_2005 for 2005 imagery, or other vintages here: http://imagery.oregonexplorer.info/arcgis/rest/services .

The URL for the Web Mercator WMS service is
http://imagery.oregonexplorer.info/arcgis/services/NAIP_2005/NAIP_2005_Dynamic/ImageServer/WMSServer?

Currently there are problems with the 2005_SL and 2005_WM services in WMS.  Esri Tech support is looking into this, and believes it may be Desktop problem.

However, WMTS Services are also available for the 2005 imagery here: http://imagery.oregonexplorer.info/arcgis/rest/services/NAIP_2005/NAIP_2005_WM/ImageServer/WMTS/1.0.0/WMTSCapabilities.xml

Subject: [OUS-GIS] Announcing new Oregon Imagery Explorer website

The State of Oregon's navigatOR program is pleased to announce the new generation of the Oregon Imagery Explorer<http://oregonexplorer.info/imagery>.  In concert with the Oregon Explorer team, we hired Esri Consulting Services to develop the new site.

You will find much of the same functionality from the old Imagery Explorer site, in addition to many new features and data.  Imagery Explorer now provides streaming and download access to five generations of statewide aerial imagery: 1995, 2000, 2005, 2009, 2011, with the addition of 2009 and 2011 Color Infrared, Pictometry orthophotos in selected urban centers, bare earth hillshade, and other  products derived from available Lidar data. The new functionality uses either a swipe tool or transparency overlay tool to compare imagery from any available year to another year, or to the bare hillshade.

In addition to the Imagery Explorer Application, the same imagery and Lidar-derived products can be accessed through web services <http://oregonexplorer.info/imagery/AccesstheImagery/StreamImagery> in your web or desktop client of choice, allowing you to access the data without having to download and store it.
