Announcement for 2013 GIS Intern Program

The City of Wilsonville GIS department is seeking two GIS interns for a six month term from June to December of 2013. The internship will include working closely with the City's Engineering and Public Works departments.

The internship will be responsible for comparing the City's existing AutoCAD system to the City's existing GIS system and updating infrastructure data (water, sewer, and stormwater systems) in the enterprise as-built GIS database. The goal is to update the GIS system with any features and attributes that may exist in the CAD database but not in the as-built database. After integration of the two systems, the infrastructure is to be incorporated into Cartegraph, the City's enterprise asset management system.

In this position, the candidates will have the opportunity to work closely with the City's GIS Manager as well staff in the Engineering and Public Works departments. The candidates will also have the opportunity to independently develop the work plan and daily schedule that best meets the goals for the project.

Ideal Candidates will have experience using GIS in a local government or comparable setting. AutoCad experience is also highly desirable, as well as experience reading as-builts for a variety of utilities.

Only candidates local to the area are encouraged to apply since no relocation assistance is available. Please include a cover letter and resume when completing your application.

GIS Intern position pay is $15.00 per hour. The GIS Intern program is scheduled to run for six months, beginning in June and lasting through December of 2013. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
