In collaboration with the US Department of Labor, the National Geospatial Technology Center (http://www.geotechcenter.org/) is updating the Geospatial Technology Competency Model (GTCM) so that it can remain relevant for the geospatial industry.   Here is one article that discusses the value of the GTCM http://www.directionsmag.com/articles/ten-things-to-know-about-the-gtcm/240972.   

 

For the past six months we have surveyed geospatial professionals, surveyed and discussed those results with a subject matter expert (SME) team, and reviewed our preliminary results with a workforce panel.  The output of these efforts can be found at  <http://www.geotechcenter.org/gtcm-discussions> http://www.geotechcenter.org/gtcm-discussions.  We are seeking your input on the resulting proposed edits to the GTCM.  Please review the expected changes and comment on our site http://www.geotechcenter.org/gtcm-discussions.
