Bill,

We have a position open at the NGTOC that some of the NSGIC membership may be interested in. It is on a short fuse as it closes on April 6th. A number of the states have excellent lidar/elevation programs and we would like to see some applications from them interested individuals.

Position Duties:

As a Interdisciplinary Supervisory Cartographer/Geographer within the National Geospatial Program, some of your specific duties will include:
·         Supervises and directs a workforce of geospatial specialists in the management and quality assurance of elevation data collected by Lidar, Ifsar, and similar technologies and datasets.
·         Defines policies and operational procedures for quality assurance of Lidar, Ifsar, and similar remotely collected elevation data, and for derived elevation products. Collaborates with contractors for continual improvement of data quality.
·         Coordinates with other National Geospatial Program experts and projects to ensure appropriate consistency between policies, procedures, and data management.
·         Serves as technical advisor and geospatial subject matter expert.
·         Manages a section of 10-30 employees.
