City of Eugene staff are holding a GIS Day<http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=61973072&msgid=1962074&act=1SIX&c=983404&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gisday.com%2F> event on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. GIS Day is an annual, international event where GIS (Geographic Information System) users celebrate mapping and educate others about GIS.

The event will take place from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm in the Bascom-Tykeson Room of the Eugene Library<http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=61973072&msgid=1962074&act=1SIX&c=983404&destination=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fmaps%2Fplace%2FEugene%2BPublic%2BLibrary%2F%4044.0485301%2C-123.097156%2C17z%2Fdata%3D%213m1%214b1%214m5%213m4%211s0x54c11e6b0e8fef25%3A0xa21ff07bace811ae%218m2%213d44.0485301%214d-123.094962>.  Tables will be set up hosting different departments/divisions who have mobile applications and printed maps showing how GIS and mapping is used in City services and operations. Stop by this drop-in event for live demonstrations, map displays, a GIS treasure hunt and some tasty goodies. GIS staff will be available to answer questions. Demonstrations include mobile applications for Urban Forestry and drive time analysis for medic units.
