Oregon Women’s Health Network 2014 Lecture Series
 Celebrating 16 Years of Thought Provoking Lectures
Friday, March 21, 2014 8:30am-12:00pm

Reproductive Health and the Affordable Care Act
With changing health care laws and coverage due to the Affordable Care Act,
our first lecture of 2014 will host a panel of professionals who will help
us understand the impacts of these changes on women's reproductive health
care.

Featured Speakers:
Emily Elman, MPH
Emily Elman has worked primarily in reproductive and sexual health,
including work at Planned Parenthood, the Los Angeles County Department of
Public Health, and AIDS Project Los Angeles. For the last seven years,
Emily has worked with the Reproductive Health Program at the Oregon Public
Health Division on policy and research issues. Emily received her Master of
Public Health degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, School
of Public Health in Community Health Sciences.

Helen K Bellanca, MD, MPH
Dr. Helen Bellanca is a family physician who has worked for more than 12
years in various Oregon community health clinics serving low-income
families. She has experience in public health advocacy and policy in issues
such as maternity care, breastfeeding, reproductive health and child care.
She has worked for the Oregon Public Health Institute and the Oregon
Foundation for Reproductive Health, and is on the Medical Advisory
Committee for the Northwest Mothers Milk Bank. She is currently the
Maternal Child Family Program Manager for Health Share of Oregon, the
state’s largest Coordinated Care Organization (CCO). In this role, she
works with health care providers, health plans, information technology and
system coordinators to improve the health care delivered to women and
children through Medicaid and to reduce costs.

Lesli Leone Uebel, MPH, CHES
Lesli Leone Uebel is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) with
over 25 years of public health experience. She has worked on a variety of
state and local public health issues, including maternal and child health,
women’s and reproductive health, health care access for underserved
communities, and advocacy for effective public health policy. Lesli
currently works with the Reproductive Health Program within the Oregon
Public Health Division on social marketing, health equity, quality
improvement and other activities related to expanding access to
contraceptive services for all who want and need them.

All lectures are free and open to the public; no registration required.
First come, first seated. Refreshments will be provided.
