[HealthyTribes] HEAL Small Grants are now available

Dear Partners –

I am pleased for forward this funding opportunity announcement to you. I know that some of you are working with individual cities within your jurisdiction, looking at policy, system and environmental change strategies like including goals for sidewalks in local transportation plans; zoning for community gardens; and adopting worksite wellness policies. These are all  examples of activities that fit with the goals of HEAL Cities. Please see below for details. Thanks!

Hello HEAL Cities!

Thanks to generous support from Kaiser Permanente, the HEAL Cities Campaign call for applications is now open.

The grant funding is designed to assist cities in implementing HEAL (Healthy Eating Active Living) policies with a focus on addressing health inequities. All cities that join the HEAL Cities Campaign by August 31, 2016 are eligible to apply.  HEAL Cities Small Grants has a pool of $35,000 and will be disbursed in amounts between $5,000 and $15,000 to up to six (6) cities to implement HEAL policies.

Applications are due by September 30, 2016 at 5 p.m.
Grant awardees will be announced on November 1, 2016.

How to apply (documents are attached):

  *   Submit a completed Application to Karli Thorstenson by 5:00 pm on September 30th, 2016.
  *   Learn more about the Small Grants grant process in our FAQ document
  *   Learn more about important dates and reporting guidelines.

Only HEAL Cities are eligible to apply for Small Grants for HEAL Cities.Cities that have not joined the Campaign by August 31, 2016 are ineligible for the 2016 Small Grants.
