[HealthyTribes] Online Tobacco Counseling Training for Health Care Providers

Hello Tribal TPEP Coordinators,

This is an FYI on a new online training that just launched on July 16th and is available for health care providers and provider care team members ONLY. The OHA Transformation Center and the Public Health Division have worked with the Oregon Tobacco Quit Line to develop a tobacco cessation counseling online training for all types of providers and care team members. This training is focused on the Brief Tobacco Intervention and Motivational Interviewing techniques for health care providers and care teams when working with patients within their clinic settings.

This is a great opportunity for health system partners to build capacity for tobacco cessation counseling strategies and techniques. HPCDP wants to share this with our partners that work with health systems so that you are aware of this training opportunity and can support providers and care teams with tobacco cessation integration into their health systems.
