Dear Tribal TPEP coordinators,

Have you developed a tool or resource, conducted research or an evaluation project, or do you have "lessons learned" in health promotion and chronic disease prevention that you would like to present? Or, do you know an individual or organization that should be recognized for their work to improve health in your community?

If yes, please submit a poster proposal or Place Matters Award nomination for the 2018 Oregon Place Matters Conference.

The Oregon Place Matters Conference is an opportunity for people who care about health to gain new insights, skills and connections to help address the leading preventable causes of death in Oregon: tobacco, poor nutrition, physical inactivity, and excessive alcohol use. Call for Posters
The Oregon Place Matters Conference planning committee is accepting 2018 Poster Session<https://custom.cvent.com/AEEBDDE84DC34E64ACDB290E0F05406F/files/986203b6f6b34f05a19e4b16678f6d2f.pdf> proposals for posters in the following categories:

*     Best and promising practices in chronic disease which describe innovative methods, projects or lessons learned.

*     Research posters which describe the author's research, pilot study or evaluation findings that contribute to knowledge in chronic disease prevention or health promotion.

*     Other topics of interest related to chronic disease prevention, detection, self-management, and risk factors.

Selected posters will be presented Monday October 29, 2018 (the exact presentation time is to be determined). At the close of the poster session, the Selection Committee will grant one poster with the "Best in Show" award based on the poster selection criteria as described on the proposal form.

Call for Place Matters Awards Nominees
The Oregon Place Matters Conference planning committee is seeking nominations for the 2018 Place Matters Awards.<http://beattygroup.cvent.com/events/place-matters-2018/custom-21-2a3c855eac554b70add83a3772e2b060.aspx> The planning committee is particularly interested in honoring efforts that advance policy, system and environmental strategies to address the leading preventable causes of death in Oregon: tobacco, poor nutrition, physical inactivity and excessive alcohol use.
