Decisions about what heritage to preserve and what heritage to promote matter, but so does the process of getting to the decision. A two-part participatory session at next month's Oregon Heritage Conference will enable people to more effectively deepen an attachment to heritage issues by talking and listening across differences.

The conference takes place April 22-24 in North Bend-Coos Bay. It has the theme of "Chart Your Course" and features unique tours, hands-on workshops, sessions, and events to help organizations ready to sail for new cultural heritage horizons.

Oregon Humanities' executive director Adam Davis will lead the session on "Building Community Across Differences" by giving participants basic tools to strengthen stakeholder relationships to one another and to places that matter.
