Fall in love with history, earn a chance to win a
romantic dinner for two when MOOT opens for Feb. 12

History lovers - and lovers of all sorts - are invited to Clackamas County
Historical Society (CCHS) 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, when the Museum
of the Oregon Territory (MOOT) opens for the day. Visitors earn a chance to win
a romantic dinner-for-two. Wine tasting also will be offered in the Tumwater
Room, the special event venue that overlooks the historic Willamette Falls.

CCHS, where Oregon's story is told, opens the MOOT in observance of
Oregon's statehood anniversary (1859) on Feb. 14. Since statehood coincides
with Valentine's Day, we thought it was only logical for CCHS to give away Valentine's-inspired
dinner for two from a Clackamas County restaurant. Some of the event partners include: Forte Floral, St. Josef's Winery, and the Highland Stillhouse.Give your love a special remembrance of your day
together at CCHS. In addition to the museum opening, wine tasting
and prize giveaway, CCHS will have available the popular print and
poster
series featuring images, from our historic photo collection, of the Arch
 Bridge
and Willamette Falls. Several of the original images are by early
20th-century
photographer Ralph Eddy, who gained a reputation in Oregon City and the
Columbia Gorge area for his postcard images. The 11x17 posters are $10
each or
two for $18. The 8x12 prints are $15 each or two for $25 or three for
$30.

 CCHS, 211 Tumwater Drive,
Oregon City, is a nonprofit institution established in 1952. It is dedicated to
providing historical information and maintaining two museum buildings (Museum
of the Oregon Territory and the Stevens Crawford House) with ongoing and
special occasion exhibits open to the public on a limited schedule. Admission
is $5 for nonmembers or free with membership renewal or purchase.
