Sustainability professionals and experienced library staff will provide the
tools you need to lighten your library's environmental footprint. You can

Presenters: 

 

.         Elaine Aye is a principal at Green Building Services, Inc., where
she brings a unique perspective to green building and sustainability
initiatives. Elaine manages the Building Management Solutions Division,
which focuses on Existing Building Operations and Maintenance, LEED for
Commercial Interiors and Corporate Sustainability. Elaine's

.         Pete Chism has 11 years of experience in the field of waste
management and prevention and has assisted hundreds of Portland businesses
in making long-lasting changes in sustainability. As a recycling specialist,
Pete provides hands-on assistance to law offices, events, hotels,
restaurants and government agencies including colleges and universities.

.         Mike Dubesa is a Senior Purchasing Analyst with Multnomah County's
Materiel Management.

.         Ralph DiNola is a Principal Architect at Green Building Services.
He is recognized for his ability to deliver high-level green building
strategies and forge effective working relationships among members of
national and international project teams. His proven record of achieving
clarity around green building objectives has enabled clients to implement
the most meaningful and valuable solutions for their specific project.

.         A.A. (Kacey) Jurgens is a Principal with THA Architecture. Her
special expertise is in planning, programming and design for libraries,
higher education buildings and cultural arts buildings. Kacey's

.         Judith Norton is Interim Head of Access Services at Oregon Health
& Science University Library.

.         Grant Swanson is a library page at the Central Library in Portland
in Stacks Services. He currently chairs Multnomah County Library's
Environmental Team, and his participation in regional and national
environmental groups includes the Green Team at Multnomah County, AFSCME
Green, Oregon Center for Environmental Health, and the city/county task
force Toxics Reduction Strategy Steering Committee.

.         Diane Sotak is a Reference and Instruction Librarian at the
University of Portland and was the Guest Editor for the Winter 2007 OLA
Quarterly issue titled "Going Green: Libraries and Sustainability."

.         Wes Stevens manages Multnomah County Library's Material Movement
delivery program and is the library's Sustainability Liasion to Multnomah
County's Sustainability Program. He has worked at MCL since 1990.
